In Lethbridge from July 15-18, 2019

We welcome you to be a part of the 10th International Triticale Symposium that will take place in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada from July 15-July 18, 2019. Lethbridge, Alberta is located two hours south of Calgary and is a small city of approximately 100,000 people located in the short grass prairie region of Southern Alberta. Lethbridge averages more than 320 days of sunshine per year and has a warm semi-arid climate during the summer, making it a pleasant location to visit. The city is located approximately 1.5 hrs by car from Waterton Lakes National Park and the Rocky Mountains are visible from the city. Lethbridge is a hub for Agriculture research due to the presence of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada-Lethbridge Research and Development Centre, the University of Lethbridge, Lethbridge College and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency in the area. The city has a local airport which and connecting flights to Calgary leave several times per day making it a convenient location for international travelers to visit.

The mission of 10th International Triticale Symposium is to bring triticale researchers together from around the world to share research results, ideas and form new collaborations. This symposium will include a wide range of research themes making this symposium an inclusive meeting for all triticale researchers.

The themes for the symposium are: Breeding, Genetic Enhancement and Development of Unique Traits in Triticale; Examining the Complexity of Triticale and its Parents through Genetics, Genomics and Transcriptomics; Beyond Breeding: using Enabling Technologies and Biotechnology for Triticale Improvement; Increasing Triticale and Cropping System Sustainability (Environment, Economic and Social benefits) through Agronomy; Utilizing and Maintaining and Abiotic and Biotic Stress Resistance in Triticale; Improvement End-use quality of Triticale for Human and Livestock consumption (biomass or grain).
